How you can help us donate more
We give items a second life wherever a partner will take them. Two small things on your end make a genuine difference to how much of your load qualifies:

Separate donations from trash
Even a rough split — one corner of the garage for things that still work — means we are not guessing on the day.

Bag or box the small stuff
Clothes, books, toys and kitchenware get refused if they arrive loose and dirty. Boxed and dry, they get accepted.

Tell us before we load
Once it is in the truck under a sectional, it is going to the transfer station whether it worked or not.

Straight answer
The truth about furniture donations
Furniture is the item people most want donated and the hardest one to place. Receiving centers have strict condition rules and routinely turn down pieces with scratches, stains, missing hardware, pet damage or heavy wear — even when the piece still feels perfectly useful.
We would rather tell you that up front than promise a donation that quietly does not happen. If a piece is going to be refused, we will say so while we are standing in front of it, and it goes to the recycling and disposal route instead.
Donation receipts
If you want a receipt for tax purposes, tell us before we load. We can only get one for items a partner actually accepts, and we will not hand you paperwork for a donation that did not happen.
